     The reasonable maintenance of ball mill is an important condition to keep a higher running rate and longer operating period of ball mill. With the fine maintenance plan and record, the ball mill operates smoothly. The carefulness of the maintenance plan is reflected on the economic benefit directly. To make each planned shut-down maintenance go on wheels, the equipment maintenance record should be made at ordinary times which record the operational circumstances and maintenance effect of every equipment in details to predict the service life of the components and make plan to change them.
    Set the maintenance frequency and time by each ball mill's operational circumstances, as well as the quick-wear part or the most wearing part--the wear degree of the lining plate. Besides the daily maintenance of the ball mill, the minor repair, medium repair, and heavy repair should be done at fixed period.
    1. Heavy repair: the period is about 5 years, besides all the medium repair program, the maintenance program contains changing the main bearing and gear wheel, checking, repair or change the barrel and the end cap, and repair, center and secondary grout to the foundation.
    2. Medium repair: generally 6~12 months once, besides all then minor repair program, the maintenance program contains clearing and adjusting the parts of the equipment such as repair the drive gear wheel and change the wear parts.
    3. Minor repair: generally 1~3 months once, and the principal item is to check, repair and change the worn parts, such as the ball mill lining plate, feeder spoon head, pinion, coupling, rubber mat, feeding tube, discharge tube, and the electric motor bearing; check the fastener, and do check, clean and oil change to the oil pump and lubricating system; check for the temporary accidents, and the little change and repair of the wear parts.
